What Is Included in a TAG Heuer Premium Battery Reseal?
The customer selected our Premium Battery Reseal service for this Carrera. This was a battery-reseal booking, not a movement-replacement job: the Ronda mechanism was already fitted to the watch.
Our Premium package includes:
- A premium Swiss-made battery, selected to suit the movement fitted to the watch.
- A condition check, including inspection of the movement, case, gaskets and sealing surfaces.
- Ultrasonic bracelet cleaning to remove built-up dirt from the steel bracelet.
- Resealing and pressure testing, with advice based on the individual watch’s condition and test result.
- A 24-month guarantee on the battery work.
Compared with our Standard Battery Reseal, the Premium option adds an upgraded battery, ultrasonic bracelet cleaning and a longer battery-work guarantee. It gives the owner more than a battery-only swap, without automatically turning the job into a full movement service.
Bracelet cleaning is not the same as scratch-removal polishing. Re-oiling, hand repairs or other additional work are assessed separately and agreed with the customer before proceeding.
Why Resealing and Pressure Testing Matter
A new battery supplies power; it does not repair a worn crown, damaged seal or loose hand. That is why we inspect the watch rather than treating every stopped quartz watch as an identical job.
TAG Heuer’s official WAR1311.BA0778 model page describes the steel-bracelet version as a 32 mm quartz Carrera with a natural mother-of-pearl dial and a 100-metre water-resistance specification. That original rating does not replace a check of the watch’s present condition.
Resealing and pressure testing are part of checking the case after it has been opened. Advice about water use follows the actual test result; a new battery alone is not proof that a watch is ready for swimming.
The Ronda Quartz Movement Inside This Carrera
This Carrera has a Ronda quartz movement, as shown in our workshop photograph below. Ronda is an independent Swiss-based movement manufacturer supplying watch brands. Its presence inside a luxury watch is not, by itself, a sign that the mechanism needs replacing.
TAG Heuer has used ETA movements extensively in earlier ranges, as its 2000 Series history documents. ETA was not its only supplier: TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 history also records Ronda movements in early models. The important point for this booking is that the actual mechanism has been identified, rather than assumed from the name on the dial.
A Brief Note on ETA Supply Changes
Swatch Group, which owns ETA, reduced supplies of ETA mechanical movements to outside customers under a phased agreement running through 2019, as its account of the supply agreement explains. Those mechanical-movement changes are separate from the Ronda quartz mechanism in this Carrera; they do not establish why TAG Heuer selected it.
