A Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 115200 came into Ross Watch Repairs because the bracelet clasp was no longer locking correctly. The watch was still wearable, but the clasp had lost its proper shape and the bracelet also showed heavy surface scratching from regular use.
Rather than replacing the clasp, we were able to reshape and correct the existing clasp, repair the damaged spring bars and give the case and bracelet a full cosmetic polish. The work was completed the same day within a couple of hours.

The Fault: Rolex Clasp Would Not Lock Properly
The main reason for the booking was the clasp. It would not close and lock as it should, which meant the bracelet could not be relied on to stay securely fastened.
A clasp fault does not always mean a new clasp is required. Depending on the condition and where the distortion is, it can sometimes be reshaped and adjusted so the original component can continue to be used.

Reshaping the Original Rolex Clasp
After inspection, we were able to work with the original clasp rather than replacing it. The clasp was carefully reshaped and adjusted until it closed and locked correctly again.
This type of repair needs to be done conservatively. The aim is to restore the locking action without unnecessarily changing the shape or finish of the original clasp.

Damaged Spring Bars Repaired
During the bracelet work we also found that the spring bars were damaged. These small components are important because they help secure the bracelet to the case.
We were able to repair and correct the damaged fittings so the bracelet could be refitted securely.

Removing the Majority of Surface Scratches
The bracelet and clasp had accumulated a large number of everyday scratches. We carried out a full cosmetic polish using a light, controlled refinishing process.
The aim was not to aggressively remove metal or chase every deep mark. Instead, we removed the majority of visible surface scratching while keeping the original lines and shape of the case, bracelet and clasp as intact as possible.

Same-Day Rolex Clasp and Bracelet Repair
The clasp reshape, spring-bar work and polishing were completed the same day within a couple of hours. The clasp was locking correctly again and the bracelet and case had a much cleaner overall appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Rolex clasp be repaired if it no longer locks?
Sometimes. If the clasp is distorted rather than badly broken, it may be possible to reshape and adjust the original component. This Rolex 115200 clasp was successfully corrected without replacing it.
Can damaged Rolex spring bars be repaired?
It depends on the damage. The spring bars on this watch were damaged, but we were able to correct the fittings and refit the bracelet securely.
Can you remove all scratches from a Rolex bracelet?
Not always, and removing every deep mark can require taking away too much material. On this watch we used a controlled polish that removed the majority of surface scratches while preserving the original shape and finish as much as possible.
How long did this Rolex 115200 repair take?
The clasp reshape, spring-bar repair and cosmetic polishing were completed the same day within a couple of hours. Other jobs may take longer depending on condition and parts requirements.
