An AARK watch came into Ross Watch Repairs at our London Bridge workshop for a battery replacement and reseal. We do not see AARK watches very often, so it was an unusual coincidence that two AARK watches arrived at the branch on the same day.
This gold-tone quartz watch was assessed, opened, fitted with a new battery and resealed. The work was completed the same day in around 30 minutes, allowing the customer to leave with the watch working again without it being sent away.
A Rare AARK Watch at Our London Bridge Workshop
AARK is not a brand we see every day. In fact, we rarely receive these watches, which made it particularly unusual to have two arrive at London Bridge on the same day.
AARK Collective is an Australian design brand based in Melbourne. The company describes itself as a team of Melbourne-based creatives connected by family and a shared interest in simple forms, fine details and wearable design. Its watches are known for minimalist dials, unusual hand shapes and contemporary case designs.
This example has a distinctive wave-shaped hand, an asymmetric small display and a geometric crown, giving it a very different appearance from a conventional three-hand quartz watch.
What Was Included in the AARK Battery and Reseal?
The watch had stopped and required a fresh battery. A proper battery service involves more than simply opening the case and changing the cell.
- Opening the case carefully without marking the gold-tone finish.
- Removing and checking the old battery and inspecting the battery contact area.
- Fitting the correct replacement battery for the quartz movement.
- Checking the movement and hand operation after the new battery was installed.
- Cleaning the caseback and sealing surfaces before closing the watch.

Japanese Quartz Movement
The caseback identifies the watch as using a Japanese quartz movement. That is consistent with AARK’s own product information, which lists Japanese quartz movements across many of its current watch ranges.
Quartz movements are generally reliable, but the battery still needs to be replaced correctly. Leaving an exhausted battery inside a watch for too long can increase the risk of leakage and damage to the movement.

This particular AARK battery and reseal was completed in around 30 minutes. Because the work could be carried out directly at our London Bridge workshop, the customer did not need to leave the watch for days or have it sent to another repair centre.
The turnaround described here applies to this individual watch. Timing for another repair will depend on the case design, condition, movement, battery type and whether additional faults are found.
